#WIPpet Wednesday – March 27, 2019

Hello and welcome to WIPpet Wednesday, a blog hop wherein writers share an excerpt from their current WIP that somehow relates to the date.  To join in, simply click the blue linky up there to the right.

A little update before I go on to the WIPpet. I’ve had a rough couple of weeks, but I feel like I’m back on top of things this week. I started off the month strong and I’m determined to finish it that way, too. That goes for not only writing but basically everything. I realised late last week I wasn’t even getting any joy out of reading, so I stepped back and re-evaluated everything. I feel like I got a proper restart this week, and I’m feeling so much better.

For my WIPpet this week, I added the two and the seven and have nine sentences. This is a moment on Ria’s first night on board the circus train. There’s one carriage set up as a common area, and Lucy and Ria have walked in to find Alex and a few others playing cards.

“Lucy!” he called. “Ria!” He beckoned us over. “Fancy a game?”

“What are you playing?” Lucy asked as we joined him and two other men. They held cards in their hands.

“Bluff,” Alex replied. Lucy grinned.

“I will smash you at Bluff,” she said, and pulled a chair up to the table.

Lucy gets very dramatic and pouty when she in fact does not smash anyone at Bluff and is instead severely smashed herself. I may be channeling myself a little in this scene.

Catch you all soon!
