Welcome! This month I’m writing a small story each day to try to brainstorm a future full-length novel, a sequel to my current WIP Memories and Magic, which is tentatively titled Rebels and Rebellions.
It’s a quick one, tonight; I kind of slept through my writing time, but it hasn’t left me wide awak, just hoping for more sleep. So I intend to go straight back to bed.
Today’s prompt is: Million.
“But can’t you just –”
“No! For the millionth time, I have no control over the machine that took your powers. And the people that do won’t listen to me. Even if I thought you deserved to have your magic returned to you, I wouldn’t be able to help.”
“Then let me see someone who can or I swear to you, when this is done, and when I do have my power back, I will come after you.”
Rikard was surprised how much venom was in Clara’s voice. All the more reason to strip her of her powers, he thought. They didn’t need someone that volatile bandying around huge amounts of magic. It was lucky they got to her when they did.
“I’ll thank you not to threaten me,” he replied. “You’re not in your own Kingdom now.”
